The evolution of substance abuse counseling from an intuitive, layperson endeavor to an evidence-based practice has been remarkable. Advancements in neuroscience, pharmacotherapy, and clinical practices have expanded the body of research in the field and made it even more critical for counselors to stay informed. The MPS in Addictions Counseling (ADDC) provides a rigorous, applied clinical program that meets the up-to-date education and training needs of individuals new to the profession, as well as those with an allied license (MSW, LP, LPC, LMFT) seeking to acquire the LADC.
