Clinical research and practice have been increasingly incorporating mobile and other technologies into the design and execution of studies and the implementation of interventions post-protocol. At the same time, individuals and corporations/organizations are relying more and more on electronic platforms in many facets of their daily lives. There is a range of benefits and challenges to the use of technology in clinical settings, but challenges can be overcome with careful planning, useful partnerships, and forethought.
