Addiction Science & Clinical PracticeNational Institute on Drug Abuse (NIIDA)'s innovative, peer-reviewed journal for drug abuse researchers and treatment providers.

Alcohol Research and Health – National Institute on Alcohol and Alcoholism NIAAA's quarterly, peer-reviewed scientific journal.

NIDA Notes covers drug abuse research in the areas of treatment and prevention, epidemiology, neuroscience, behavioral science, health services, and AIDS. The publication reports on research; identifies resources; and promotes communication among clinicians, researchers, administrators, policymakers, and the public.

Other Addiction Journals – Most addiction-related research journals are available online and feature summaries of the current issue’s articles. Some addiction-related journals allow free access to their articles.  Others require some form of subscription to the journal.  Most, however, allow an article to be purchased at a nominal price and the article is sent electronically.  


Laboratories & Universities

Addiction Research at Brookhaven  provides a quick look at addiction related current research. Brookhaven National Laboratory is one of ten national laboratories overseen and primarily funded by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences. 

National Treatment Center Study The Center for Research on Behavioral Health and Human Services Delivery (CRBHHSD) is one of several research groups within the University of Georgia’s Institute for Behavioral Research. 


Technology Transfer

The Bridge: Linking Science and Service  - This e-Journal, published by the Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) National Office, is a forum for transmitting new knowledge about technology transfer and issues that surround technology transfer. Technology transfer is the vehicle for moving evidence-based practices to substance abuse treatment settings.
