MI Skill-Building: How To Recognize, Respond To, and Elicit Change Talk
National SBIRT ATTC (2012-2017)

Event Type: Meeting
What: “Change talk” is a Motivational Interviewing expression that refers to language a client or patient uses that favors change. Recognizing, responding to, and eliciting change talk are three crucial skills practitioners must develop and apply to support clients/patients in making change. Whether in the context of a brief intervention or in an ongoing counseling relationship, when people use change talk to voice their intrinsic motivations, they are more likely to make a change. This webinar will review the technical aspects of recognizing, responding to, and eliciting change talk. It will also offer an opportunity to practice each of the above.
When: 8/30/2017;  2:00 PM To 3:00 PM
Where: This is a distance event.
