The resources in this section provide a wealth of information and support essential to the health and wellness of veterans and their families. Clinicians are encouraged to explore the information in this section and become familiar with some to the supports available to veterans, as well as military culture.

Department of Defense Installations - Where We Serve-- Information About Defense Department Installations (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines)


Handbook for Family & Friends of Service Members Before, During and After Deployment (SAMHSA)- Prepares family and friends of military service members with information to better understand and cope with the range of emotions and stress that often accompany deployment. Covers before, during, and after deployment and includes referrals to tools and resources.

Veterans Center Readjustment Counseling Service (Vet Center) - Vet Centers serve veterans and their families by providing continuum of quality care that adds value for the veterans, families and communities. Care includes, professional readjustment counseling, community education outreach to special populations, brokering of services with community agencies, and provided a key access link between the veteran and other services in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Operation Enduring Freedom / Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) - Welcome home and thank you for your service to our country in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom! This site is a direct link to the Veterans Health Administration benefits for service members returning home from the armed services. It speaks specifically to Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) veterans.
