NFAR will provide leadership and sponsor meetings with national/regional stakeholders to create telehealth competencies for addiction counselors and treatment providers that are aligned with the Addiction Counselor Competencies (i.e., TAP 21, TAP 21-A).
NFAR will address License Portability issues related to delivering telehealth services by 1) devoting time to creating a repository that includes articles, studies, reports, Summit recommendations, telehealth-related white papers, and frontier and rural addiction treatment and recovery resources that relate to license portability and regulatory issues, and 2) sponsoring and convening meetings with national/state credentialing board representatives to make recommendations regarding ethics, scope of practice, and license portability issues to inform telehealth competencies.
