NORC conducts innovative research on drug treatment outcomes, dynamics of drug markets, and public perceptions of substance use, and we help organizations establish performance measures and evaluate programs.
NORC’s Substance Abuse, Mental Health, and Criminal Justice Studies (SAMHCJ) department is dedicated to developing the science and the services that bring behavioral health and physical health back together. Its surveys and research help reconnect people and programs in the justice system into communities. NORC’s SAMHCJ department works to help create a healthier, safer and more just America.
NORC currently oversees two SBIRT implementation projects, the Hospital Initiative and the Brief Intervention Group, BIG Initiative. The BIG Initiative also has SBIRT Training available online and through webinars. The two initiatives illustrate SBIRT’s wide-ranging application, from employee assistance programs to hospital settings.
