Workforce Development

The Mountain West ATTC is dedicated to improving substance abuse treatment and recovery systems of care through the education and training of health and human service professionals in Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Mountain West ATTC shapes and impacts the care of individuals with substance use disorders by providing innovative training and technical assistance opportunities.  All activities are based on empirically-supported, culturally and linguistically appropriate approaches to treatment and recovery.

The Mountain West ATTC offers university-based courses and programs, and workshops for pre-service addiction counselors and related professionals. Courses and workshops are transmitted through face to face workshops, compressed video, satellite, CD-ROMs, and the internet. Information on current research and federal publications can be accessed through this web site, training events being offered, and information from our Nevada Prevention Resource Center.
