Mountain West ATTC's Sub-Committees{C}

The MWATTC sponsors one Advisory Board and seven sub-committees that are providing guidance and direction on the following MWATTC activities:

Advisory Board

36 members encompassing representation from each Mountain West ATTC sub-committe providing  guidance and feedback for programing efforts.


Workforce development surveys, recruitment and retention issues relating to the workforce, and technology transfer and knowledge dissemination issues regarding co-occurring disorders.

Licensing/Certification Board

Portability issues regarding certification and licensure, mentoring programs for individuals seeking certification and licensure, and the development of a document that describes the certification/licensing standards and requirements for the five states in the region.

Native American Initiative

Development of mentoring programs for Native Americans to improve the pass rates on certification and licensing tests and the creation of a consortium of Native American Addiction Educators.

Addiction Educators

Creation of sourcebook of addiction courses syllabi, textbooks, and instructional experiences for generalists and specialist students and development of a neurobiology of addiction PowerPoint presentation for use in all course across the region. Assist in developing activities to recruit faculty and trainers from diverse backgrounds and dissemination of NIDA research and materials to community college and university students.

Frontier Treatment Provider

Identification of special problems faced by providing treatment services in remote areas and creative solutions developed by some providers to address these issues and participation in distance education activities. Dissemination of NIDA research and material using creative and innovative methods for providers in remote areas.

Treatment Providers Association

Established treatment provider associations with the State Association of Addiction Services (SAAS).

Recovery Support

Includes individuals representing of the recovery, medication-assisted treatment, and faith-based communities. Mountain West ATTC will provide training and technical assistance to members regarding the disease of addiction, the consequences of un-treated addiction, and the process of recovery.
