Fact Sheet-Let’s Talk About it: Hepatitis C and Hispanics in the United States


The number of Hispanics with hepatitis C virus (HCV) is higher than the number of people with hepatitis C in the general population. Treatment of hepatitis C has been found to be as effective in Hispanics as it is in Whites, but there still many barriers for adequate treatment. Barriers to HCV care in the Hispanic community may include language barriers, access to care, lack of education among others. There is much we can do, let’s talk about it!
