Recovery Ready Workplaces 2-day training

This is a two-part training (August 17 & 18 from 1pm-4pm). You must attend both sessions to receive credit.

One registration signs you up for both days. The cost is free.

Recovery Ready Workplaces support their communities by recognizing recovery from substance use disorder as a strength and by being willing to work intentionally with people in recovery. Encourage a healthy and safe environment where employers, employees, and communities can collaborate to create positive change and eliminate barriers for those impacted by addiction.

During this training, participants will learn about:

  • The impact of substance use disorders in the workplace
  • Potential barriers to employment
  • The benefits of hiring people in recovery
  • What is recovery?
  • Language and stigma; Why words matter
  • How to cultivate a recovery-ready workplace

Who should attend:

Mental health professionals; mental health advocates; mental health caretakers; behavioral health professionals; and the general public. All persons who interact with patients, which may include intake staff, reception area personnel, drivers, maintenance staff, as well as professional staff.


Presenter:

Andre Reid headshotAndre Reid is the founder and president of Philadelphia's National Alliance of Medication Assisted Recovery (NAMA), an organization created to advocate for the expansion of MAT for people from diverse backgrounds and communities. Andre gains his knowledge from working at Philadelphia Office of Addiction Services in combination with his lived experiences which provides him a unique perspective on lack of equity in healthcare, socioeconomic benefits and community support.
