In response to the Opioid epidemic, the Mid-Atlantic ATTC has partnered with the Region III – Title X Family Planning Program to provide training and technical assistance to their provider network in the implementation of SBIRT. SBIRT is an evidence-based intervention used to help Screen, provide a Brief Intervention and Refer appropriate patients for Treatment related to substance use disorders. **
The ATTC believes that Family Planning providers can play an important role in working with their patients by offering SBIRT, and ultimately improve reproductive and behavioral health outcomes. Through training and technical assistance, the ATTC works with Title X staff to enhance their understanding, knowledge and skills in the implementation of SBIRT. Meeting with key staff monthly over a 9-month period, the goal of the ATTC is to assist agency staff in the development of a realistic Implementation Work Plan.
