Professional Boundaries

Professional boundaries set the parameters of effective and appropriate interaction between professionals and the persons they serve. They protect clients or patients as well as the provider. This interactive course will discuss professionalism and ethics, dual relationships, and how to build a safe working environment. The content reviews how to maintain professional boundaries as encouraged and according to the guidelines established by the code of ethical and professional conduct required by the New York State Office of Addiction Supports and Services (NYS OASAS).

Credits: This training meets the requirements for three renewal hours (CASAC, CPP, CPS) and three initial hours (CPP, CPS) through NYS OASAS. This training meets three of the required six hours ethics training for NYS OASAS certification. As an IC & RC member board, OASAS accredited courses are granted reciprocal approval by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Alcohol and Drug Counselor Committee.

Participants are required to attend the entire session, turn on their video cameras, and actively participate in order to receive a certificate of completion.
