Great Lakes ATTC 2018: Year in Review
The Great Lakes ATTC accomplished a lot in our first year at UW-Madison!
We hosted 54 in-person and web-based events, training 1,170 participants. The most frequent technical assistance requests were for our NIATx Change Leader Academies and Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care.
Our team was busy meeting training requests for evidence-based practices such as Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, Medication-Assisted Treatment, and Trauma-Informed Care.
In response to requests from the region, we hosted a several multi-part webinar series in the spring and summer of 2018. Topics included Cultural Competence, Workforce Recruitment and Retention, Implementation Science, Syndemics (a two-part series on the relationship between substance use disorders and viral infections such as HIV and hepatitis C), and Opioid Prescribers.Several hundred people attended each live webinar presentation, and more than 1,000 have viewed the recorded presentations available on our website and YouTube channel.
In 2018, we enjoyed connecting with addiction treatment and recovery services professionals throughout the region. We look forward to continuing to build relationships in 2019 as we work to deliver effective training and technical assistance targeted to local needs.
Best wishes of the season from all the staff of the Great Lakes ATTC!
