Clinical Responses to the Opioid Crisis: A Resource Guide

Published:
January 24, 2019

Opioid misuse has drastically increased in the U.S. resulting in a devastating public health impact on communities and families. In 2017, a Cross-Divisional Taskforce was formed of members of the American Psychological Association (APA) Divisions 12, 28 and 50 to develop a guide on clinical responses to the opioid crisis. The “Clinical Responses to the Opioid Crisis: A Resources Guide” is an outcome of this Taskforce and is a series of brief resources on topics such as assessing opioid misuse, supporting families, facilitating treatment referrals, and overdose risks and response.

This information is available on www.div12.org under the Resources tab, or download the guide here. This document serves as a great resource and we ask that you consider how you can use and/or disseminate it to other professionals and those in direct need.
