The National AI/AN ATTC Co-Director Sean Bear 1st and Manager Steve Steine provided a 2-day ASAM training with the Anpetu Luta Otipi treatment team and other area providers on November 20th-21st at Pine Ridge, SD. This two-day event included review/ discussion of several related topics including implementation of ASAM criterion, DSM-5 application, Confidentiality and Ethics curriculums. The second day of the training was spent with clinicians, supervisors, and direct service workers. The group reviewed selected case studies and practiced the application of DSM-5 diagnosis criterion and ASAM criterion placement guidelines. In total, 23 attendees participated in this clinical training event. There was a lot of sharing and supportive feed back throughout both days. It was an honor to work with such a great group of professionals. Thank you to all who attended and participated in this ATTC training event.
