Three days of learning and discussion took place on September 11-13 at Lower Brule, SD with the National AI/AN ATTC training team, Lena Gachupin, Connie OMarra, Ed Parsells, and Steven Steine. Fifteen Native American attendees gathered from several states, within the Great Plains Region, to partake in an intensive three-day Alcohol and Drug Certification Exam Preparation Course. The attendees and trainers spent time reviewing key areas of the Addictions Domains and Clinical aspects that state certification boards will test those sitting for the exam. Daily review and practice testing was administered with the attendees to help prepare them for their upcoming testing dates. We learned, collaborated, and laughed together. Thus, creating a supportive, positive, and productive learning environment for all the participants and instructors. Thank you to all who attended and for Lower Brule Community College for hosting this National ATTC educational event.
