Featuring Ken Winters, PhD! This session will cover what is actually happening in the brain of an adolescent as they mature, and how drug use can particularly affect the teen brain. The maturation of the adolescent brain likely contributes to behaviors that are characteristic of this developmental period. This maturation also informs our understanding of risk for substance use disorders and other behavioral disorders. Service providers can leverage teen brain science when working with adolescents and parents.
