The New England ATTC, in partnership with The Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council of Rhode Island is hosting this training on 2/2/23 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with subject matter expert Brenda Westberry.  Inter social treatment and unequal government regulation have been historically inescapable in our society. Personally held biases and prejudice have permeated laws and regulations that purposefully limit, deny and obstruct a groups equal access to the same opportunities and resources that are shared among others in society. Connecting with clients can at best be rewarding and challenging. We often overlook the challenging aspects of working with individuals and groups who have traditionally faced oppression, while failing to discover the multitude of issues that have been embedded within their personalities and approach to treatment due to social inequalities and injustices. In this workshop we will discuss the codependent issues of inter-social treatment and unequal government regulation and the impact it has on our work with clients.
