Working with youth in any discipline can be challenging with consistently fluctuating aspects of youth physical, mental, and emotional growth. Noting the potential impact of life factors that can include family dynamics, peer influence, cultural elements, traumatic exposure on a still-developing brain is critical to effectively working with adolescents with substance use and/or mental health problems.

• Strategies and theoretical perspectives.
• Special populations.
• Review recovery support services for youth.
 

This interactive two part 90-minute webinar series will incorporate an ecological perspective to understanding the adolescent ‘world.’ Content will inform on how providers can support youth through using effective tools, strategies and interventions that help engage and motivate adolescents toward healthy behavior change in health care and behavioral health settings.

This webinar series will be delivered in two segments (1.5 hours each) webinar training provided under New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) Education and Training. Provider Certification Number (115) Training under a New York State OASAS Provider Certification is acceptable for meeting all or part of the CASAC/CPP/CPS education and training requirements.
