This mental health training led by Phelisa Bashman is for KwaZulu Natal Department of Health nurses, counsellors, community health workers, social workers, social auxillary workers and lay workers. Providers that attend this training will learn cultural competencies to contextualize the circumstances and care of their patients as well as how to recognize common mental health disorders in order to improve HIV treatment outcomes through strategies such as increased detection and intervention to co-occurring disorders.
