The New England ATTC, in partnership with Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addictions Services, is launching an intensive TA series in Motivational Interviewing for Substance Use Disorders on 12/9/24 from 9:00-4:30 (EST) with subject matter expert Robert Jope. MI is a client-centered, goal-oriented, evidence-based practice for enhancing intrinsic motivation to reduce substance use by exploring and resolving ambivalence within the individual. Intensive TA provision consists of a series of experiential workshops in Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced MI, which provides participants repeated opportunities to practice applying the spirit, micro skills, and strategies of the model. Participants also have recurring opportunities to foster competent MI delivery via practice conversations and ongoing consultation with the expert trainer.
