The 2013 Spanish booklet describes psychotherapeutic medications, their purpose, usual dose and frequency, side effects, potential for abuse and dependence, emergency conditions, and cautions. The language has been modified to increase readability and new medications have been added since earlier editions. An online version is available in both Spanish and English at findrxinformation.org, where practitioners & patients can search, download and print specific information as needed.

Stigma often makes addicted and recovering people, family and friends, treatment professionals, community activists, and other stakeholders feel powerless, angry, and frustrated. This guide is designed to help people become empowered and to provide practical tools by which people can become involved in stigma prevention activities.    This resource provides practical information about a variety of approaches to prevent addiction-related stigma. Some are especially simple and can be initiated by individuals on their own. These include tips on using stigma-free language and writing letters to the editor. Some approaches are comprehensive, such as developing a community action group and implementing a community-based campaign.

Curriculum Package
The Clinical Supervision Foundations course was developed by the Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) Network as an introduction to the essential elements of supervisory practice. In response to the need for an educational program which helps supervisors qualify for credentialing, the course presents participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to assure quality of care and promote the professional development of addictions counselors. Knowing it is difficult for supervisors to be away from the worksite for extended periods, the course was intentionally designed utilizing a combination of online, face-to-face, and worksite formats to make up this 30-hour course. The 14-hour, ten module online course is self-paced, and can be taken as a standalone. It is intended to introduce basic concepts and resources, while providing a conceptual overview of the work of a clinical supervisor. The face-to-face segment, which requires the online course as a prerequisite, delves further into some of the more practical aspects of supervision and builds in opportunities for skills practice, offering a worksite aspect giving supervisors an opportunity to self-assess their knowledge and skills, as well as create a plan for continuing their professional development.

This curriculum was written by American Indians for the benefit of American Indians. The authors were mindful of how frequently psycho-educational skills programs provided to American Indian participants have been culturally biased and consequently unsuccessful because of their inherent prejudices and inappropriateness. Research suggests a less prescriptive, more flexible program that promotes culturally relevant and appropriate psycho-educational group techniques to promote cultural identity, self-disclosure, processing, altruism and an emphasis on psychology’s strength model rather than on psychology’s traditional deficit model. Training Objectives: 1) Experience a world view of interpreting reality through heart and hand as well as head, 2) Gain awareness of one’s own attitudes, beliefs and perceptions about substance misuse based on cultural experience, 3) Gain awareness of how one’s attitudes, beliefs and perceptions are a product of one’s life experience.
