NeC-ATTC provides Implementation and Technical Assistance (ITA) support to behavioral health care (BHC) organizations seeking to incorporate SBIRT, (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment).  SBIRT is an evidence-based practice that includes screening and brief interventions to populations at risk of health and related consequences from problematic levels of substance (alcohol, marijuana, heroin, prescription drugs, etc.) use and misuse.

BHC organizations are especially positioned to integrate SBIRT as they deliver community services that address stress, depression, physical ailments, disabilities, and other psychosocial concerns, often impacted by the use of alcohol and other substances.
