According to research, 1 in 3 persons see little need for preventive care and have low interest in health education. These dynamics are associated with poor patient/client and program outcomes. A key factor of patient/client outcomes relates to how engaged they are in their own care or change process and is especially important for facilitating intake and screening. This interactive training will focus on core principles of engagement, culturally and linguistically appropriate and trauma informed strategies, creating physical and mentally conducive environments, and benefits of using recovery empowered communication.
This training meets approval for 1.5 renewal hours (CASAC, CPP, CPS) and 1.5 initial hours (CPP, CPS) through New York State’s Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS). Participants must attend the session in its entirety to receive a certificate of completion. All participants are required to turn on their video cameras and to actively participate in order to receive credit.
