Screening for Adolescent Substance Use - Webinar

Despite that adolescent substance use is often influenced by a variety of factors, the vulnerability within growth processes, place teens at a high risk for substance use, misuse and substance use disorders, as well as potential obstruction of healthy emotional, physical, and social development.  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommend universal screening in pediatric primary care, and many school settings are integrating substance use screening to capitalize on contact opportunities.  This interactive 90-minute webinar will review current adolescent substance use trends including modes of administration and drug impact on youth health. Content will also provide a review of evidence based adolescent screening tools and how to facilitate them.

Credits: This training meets the requirements for 1.5 renewal hours (CASAC, CPP, CPS) and 1.5 initial hours (CPP, CPS) through New York State’s Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS). Participants must attend the session in its entirety to receive a certificate of completion.
