This training focused on how to conduct screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) for alcohol and other illicit drug use. Attendees gained knowledge and skills in assessment, brief intervention and referral to treatment for substance use disorders. Such skills are expected to improve HIV outcomes through increased detection and interaction of co-occurring and drug use disorders.
