Course description: This course provides an overview of the psychological, physiological, and sociological effects of alcohol and other drugs, and their implications for the addiction process are discussed. Emphasis is placed on pharmacological effects of tolerance, physiological dependence and withdrawal, cross addiction, and drug interaction.
