This introductory level workshop offers practitioners in criminal justice, health care and social services the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing (MI). It discusses this effective approach in the treatment of challenging clients, and provides participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating these approaches into an effective therapeutic intervention. Motivational Interviewing is a client-centered, evidence-based, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence.
