DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this webinar is to integrate CLAS Standards of care with ways to build bridges of equity and inclusion within a healthcare setting for meaningful service to the LGTBQ+ community.

OBJECTIVES

• Become acquainted with the basics of CLAS Standards application in behavioral healthcare environments
• Increase awareness of health problems and stressors that vulnerable and marginalized groups experience
• Better understand the holistic health needs of clients who identify as LGTBQ+
• Identify specific strategies to build proactive partnerships for wellness care

SPEAKERS

Jacqueline Coleman, MEd, MSM, BA, CPC, is a certified professional coach with extensive experience as a senior program manager. Jacqueline has expertise in workforce development, organizational development and contract management. She is a cultivator and trainer of professionals in multiple sectors. Jacqueline provides strategic consultation on LEADERVATION (gender-tailored programs, equity and diversity initiatives, and systems change processes).

Benjamin Di’Costa (Open/Any/All) has a flair for technology and innovation. They are a globally renowned expert in innovative program development, & capacity-building assistance utilizing social media, mobile apps, storytelling through personal narratives and campaigns. After leaving direct client work Benjamin continues to amplify the voices of young people to many organizations, corporations, and government agencies that support the youth movement in HIV/AIDS to ensure that there will always be a seat at the table for young people. In 2016, Benjamin was placed on the prestigious LGBT 30 Under 30 list alongside receiving the Pedro Zamora Young HIV leader scholarship.
