Cultural Competency: A Modality for Practice (Two-part Webinar)

Working with diverse populations is especially challenging when facilitating behavior change and warrants a means of eliciting client cultural perceptions that inform on realistic conduits to their change.  This interactive two part (90 minutes each) webinar, will discuss the importance of integrating a process oriented and collaborative method of working with persons of diverse backgrounds inclusive of their cultural perspectives. Content will include cultural dynamics of working with cultural groups, tools for self-assessment, and strategies to incorporate culture and individualize the client’s pathways toward recovery and wellness.

Credits: This training meets the requirements for three renewal hours (CASAC, CPP, CPS) and three initial hours (CPP, CPS) through New York State’s Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS). Participants must attend both sessions in their entirety to receive a certificate of completion.
