This two-part course meets the certification requirement for prevention ethics set by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC). Participants must attend all of the sessions of the course to fulfill the six-hour prevention ethics requirement. The course will introduce ethics in general and explain the necessity for a code of ethics specific to prevention in behavioral health care. The six principles in the Prevention Code of Ethics will be explained in detail. Participants will also apply an ethical decision-making process to dilemmas that prevention professionals may experience.
