Model designed to reduce the emotional distress that results from experiencing traumatic events. Focusing on promoting the adaptive functioning and coping skills of the person, immediately after the event occurs (hurricanes, earthquakes, pandemic etc.).

Integrate SUD as a high-risk factor in coping with personal or external trauma and how to integrate harm reduction.

The Department of Justice of Puerto Rico has requested this technical assistance to educate their judicial employees on how to better assess their clients and develop skills on how to address external and internal high-risk factors of traumatic events.  

This Technical Assistance is aimed to provide support and educate on proper referral for people (clients) who were exposed to traumatic events that may influence in the development of mal-adaptive conducts. .
