Motivational Interviewing : Build the Bench Project
The Central East has partnered with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Behavioral Health to launch the "Build the Bench" project in an effort to assist providers in West Virginia to develop motivational interviewing skills. By 2026, the goal is for West Virginia to have 10 Motivational Interviewing approved Trainers (Member of MINT, the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers). MINT Trainers would then be able to help teach MI skillfulness both within their own organizations and within other Mental Health, Substance Use, and Healthcare organizations across the State. Fourteen participants will be trained, coached, and supervised on a weekly and monthly basis. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend the 2024 or 2025 MINT Conference
held every Fall.
