This training is led by the South Africa HIV ATTC's Shaheema Allie and Rehana Kader and is for KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, counsellors, community health workers, social workers, and district trainers. Providers that attend this training will gain knowledge and skills in Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques in order to promote behavior change related to substance use disorders: such skills are expected to improve HIV treatment outcomes through improved treatment of co-occurring alcohol or drug use disorders.
