The continuous increase in opioid overdoses are devastating families and communities. Health Care and Behavioral Health organizations are critical to addressing opioid use disorder (OUD) with individuals at risk.
This training will review how OUD is diagnosed and associated effects on the body and long-term impacts on opioid users. Discussion will further review cognitive impairment, compulsivity factors, risk factors, and physical dependence for OUD which may have implications for screening and treatment. Content will also discuss stigma associated with opioid use and effective intervention strategies.
