Pharmacists' Essential Role in Treating OUD in Primary Care Settings

DESCRIPTION:

To learn more about the important role that pharmacists have in caring for patients who have opioid use disorder.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

After attending this program, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the opioid epidemic and stigma
  • Distinguish among medication-assisted treatments (MAT) for OUD including buprenorphine, naltrexone, and methadone
  • Assess clinical decision-making factors when prescribing MAT

 

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Pharmacists from FQHC programs, pharmacy training programs, academic hospital programs, and retail pharmacies treating patients with opioid use disorder (OUD)
