The New England ATTC in partnership with RICARES is providing a basic/universal TA session titled “A qualitative analysis of barriers to opioid agonist treatment for racial/ethnic minoritized populations” on 8/17/23 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Racial/ethnic minoritized populations with opioid use disorder (OUD) use opioid agonist therapy (OAT) at lower rates. This study interviewed patients with OUD not on OAT: commonly cited barriers to OAT among racial/ethnic minorities were distrust of OAT and anticipated stigma. To address the needs of this population, culturally-tailored interventions are needed.
