SBIRT, (Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment), is an evidence based practice that uses a public health approach to identify and effectively intervene with persons who are at moderate or high risk for psychosocial or health care problems related to their substance use, (alcohol or other substances) as well as those who may benefit from a referral to treatment services.
This interactive training will review validated tools used in the SBIRT model, will inform and include practice skills on how to provide a brief intervention, and discuss the dynamics of a successful referral to treatment services.
