This course is an introduction to "Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)" and is offered to participants in the Community Behavioral Health Collaborative. As a
comprehensive, integrated, public health and preventive approach, SBIRT can be used to deliver referrals to treatment services for persons with substance use disorders (SUD), as well as to identify persons at-risk of SUD before the onset of dependency. This interactive training will discuss validated evidence based tools used in SBIRT, how to provide a brief intervention to modify risky substance use, and how to facilitate referrals to treatment services. The training is suitable for licensed clinical and non-licensed staff.
