Screening for Adolescent Substance Use (9/24/2019) - Closed Event

Adolescent development can be a difficult process and can place teens at high risk for substance use, misuse and substance use disorders, which can also obstruct healthy emotional, physical, and social development. In congruence, American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that universal screening be conducted in pediatric primary care. Further, many school settings have adopted and integrated substance use screening capitalizing on contact opportunities. This interactive training will review the more commonly used substances by adolescents and drug impact on youth health. Content will also provide a review of evidence based adolescent screening tools and how to facilitate them.
