WHAT IS THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION SKILLS TRAINING (SAPST)?
- Foundational course of study in substance misuse prevention
- Innovative training that blends a four-day, virtual component with homework and an interactive online unit
- For entry-level prevention practitioners working in states, jurisdictions, tribes, and communities; also appropriate for professionals working in related fields
- Grounded in current research and SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework
- Provides knowledge and skills to implement effective, data-driven prevention programs, practices, and policies that reduce behavioral health disparities and improve wellness
ATTENDANCE
- Full attendance is required for this training. Credit will not be given for partial attendance. No exceptions.
- Training Dates & Times:
- Monday, April 4 at 9AM–3PM ET
- Thursday, April 7 at 9AM–3PM ET
- Monday, April 11 at 9AM–3PM ET
- Thursday, April 14 at 9AM–3PM ET
- The sessions listed above include time for lunch and breaks.
- Participants are expected to join 15 minutes early for each session.
LEVEL OF COMMITMENT
The expected time commitment for this training is 31 hours. Participants must complete the entire SAPST training to receive a certificate for 31 hours of participation. No partial credit will be given.
