Hello Advocates of Commercial Tobacco Cessation and Prevention!

We would like to invite you to be a part of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Native Communities (BTISfNC) In-Person Training to be delivered Tuesday, OCTOBER 17, 2023, from 8:00 AM ā€“ 5:00 PM (MT) in Albuquerque, NM.

This Tobacco Intervention training is culturally tailored to distinguish between the use of traditional and commercial tobacco in Native American communities and emphasize evidence-based techniques to increase the rates of successful interventions resulting in the cessation of commercial tobacco use.

In partnership, the Albuquerque Area Southwest Tribal Epidemiology Center (AASTEC) and the Indian Health Service Health Albuquerque Area Promotion Disease Prevention are offering this Continuing Education Unit eligible training to all who are interested. We will cover the $230 materials fee and processing for all attendees in the Albuquerque Area/NM. If you are outside the I.H.S. Albuquerque Area (I/T/U) you will need to purchase training materials directly from the University of Arizona HealthCare Partnership. We request you be present the entire duration of the training. Upon successful completion of the training, all eligible participants will receive certification from the University of Arizona HealthCare Partnership.
