There are thousands of people in recovery from addiction unaware of their civil rights under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). The ADA insures that people with addiction to alcohol, and in recovery from opioids and other drugs have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
The New England ADA Center supports the ADA National Network's mission to provide information, guidance and training on how to implement the ADA and “assure equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities.” They have created two Fact Sheets to help inform the community:
