For 28 years, the New England ATTC has served as a proud regional workforce development partner for The Annual New England School of Best Practices in Addiction Services, commonly called Best Practices. This year, both the New England PTTC and MHTTC are joining us in supporting Best Practices activities from August 23-27, 2021.
The School of Best Practices, developed from the New England Summer School, is an intensive 5-day learning opportunity for established addiction professionals to study an area of special interest in-depth. The New England ATTC will be hosting a number of plenary sessions and specialized courses focused on treatment and recovery support services to address specific needs of the regional workforce including (but not limited to): Implementing Contingency Management with Fidelity; Training of Trainers: Medication Assisted Treatment 101 and 201, The Wraparound Empowerment Process; and Race and Violence in Our Communities.

Designed with the seasoned behavioral health professional in mind, the New England Best Practices School focuses heavily on evidence-based and promising approaches specific to addressing addiction. The courses offered are intended to appeal to a wide array of professionals working in diverse settings. In addition to clinical, clinical supervision, and advanced prevention topics, some course offerings this year will again address the macro area of addiction and behavioral practice such as program or agency oversight. Courses will be offered in the following areas: clinical supervision foundations, clinical supervision recertification coursework, ethics, coursework for established clinicians, and, for the third year, a new advanced prevention track.
