2020 New England Summer School “Re-Imagined”
Virtual Summer School – June 1 – 4, 2020

Each year, we look forward to welcoming new and returning Summer School participants to experience the unique learning environment of the New England School of Addiction and Prevention Studies. For the 51st year, our planning committee has once again developed a wonderful program to meet the needs of the New England treatment, prevention, and recovery workforce and allied social service and healthcare professionals.

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts New England, it is becoming less likely that we can safely gather in person during the week of June 1 – 4, as planned. We understand that many attendees each year plan on the Summer School for their professional development, and many depend on the large number of contact hours offered for their credentialing.

During June 1 – 4, we are pleased to offer a Virtual “Re-Imagined” New England School of Addiction and Prevention Studies. Participants will have the opportunity to select from a series of day-long and half-day courses on topics across the continuum of treatment, prevention, recovery. Some keynote presentations will be offered as well.

Participants may attend one class, selected classes, or the entire program. Tuition costs have been reduced significantly. Most New England states expect to offer partial scholarships to support attendance. Twenty-eight (28) contact hours will be available.

Courses have been developed to address the continuing education and credentialing needs of the New England region’s substance use disorder treatment, prevention, and recovery workforce, as well as those from related disciplines.

Presentations will take place through Zoom, which allows for interaction for these intensive courses. and additional communications will be available in social media or complementary software to encourage as much “virtual community” as possible. Stay tuned to our website and to https://newengland.adcare-educational.org/ to stay up to date!
