The National CLAS Standards are intended to advance health equity, improve quality, and help eliminate health care disparities by establishing a blueprint for individuals as well as health and health care organizations to implement culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Co-occurring disorders (CODs) occur frequently and can significantly impact mother and child. In this webinette, Dr. Cooke will present information on the significance of CODs and their risk factors; discuss the importance of repeat screening, appropriate referral, and coordinated treatment; and share the safety profiles of the various medications available to treatment CODs and how to take in account the risks to mother and child.

The learning objectives inlcude 1) Identify signs & symptoms of community correctional fatigue 2) Develop a personalized self-care plan to prevent community correctional fatigue 3)Identify actions and behaviors that violate healthy boundaries 4) Provide at least two examples of self-care and/or strategies to manage community correctional staff fatigue

This revision of the March 2012 face-to-face version of the Pacific Southwest ATTC’s SBIRT curriculum was prepared by the National Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment ATTC. The goals of the training remain the same: to help participants to develop skills related to SBIRT, and to begin a conversation around implementation of SBIRT in standard practice. The revised curriculum expands the format and presents the trainer with the opportunity to focus on any 1 of 4 option.

The Clinical Supervision Foundations course was developed by the Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) Network as an introduction to the essential elements of supervisory practice. In response to the need for an educational program which helps supervisors qualify for credentialing, the course presents participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to assure quality of care and promote the professional development of addictions counselors. Knowing it is difficult for supervisors to be away from the worksite for extended periods, the course was intentionally designed utilizing a combination of online, face-to-face, and worksite formats to make up this 30-hour course. The 14-hour, ten module online course is self-paced, and can be taken as a standalone. It is intended to introduce basic concepts and resources, while providing a conceptual overview of the work of a clinical supervisor. The face-to-face segment, which requires the online course as a prerequisite, delves further into some of the more practical aspects of supervision and builds in opportunities for skills practice, offering a worksite aspect giving supervisors an opportunity to self-assess their knowledge and skills, as well as create a plan for continuing their professional development.  

This book comprises 20 essays in which family members described, in their own words, the most challenging part about having a family member with a substance use disorder, what it means to have a loved one find long-term recovery and explain why they are committed to recovery.

The National Office has been working with the Northeast ATTC to take their publication "Know the Facts in New York" and turn it into a Network Product. This booklet will present facts relating to the benefits of treatment to society.
