As a proud Mexican American that is passionate about serving the Latino community, Anahí pursued a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Spanish Translation and Interpretation.
In her role of project coordinator, Anahí assisted with the development of El Renacimiento: Latino Youth Historical Trauma curriculum that bridges traditional indigenous healing to contemporary methods. Latino youth explore their cultura and identidad through Mexican American history and art activities. As the parent promotora for the Familia Adelante Multi-Risk Prevention Program, she has facilitated bilingual workshops on HIV/AIDS, stress, family communication, gang and substance abuse prevention.
Anahí has collaborated in the agency’s grant writing efforts and conducted community focus groups to gather data on the Latino community needs. Anahi has assisted in the submission of applications for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, UnidosUS, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Health Resources & Services Administration.
