I have vast knowledge and experience in the area of Hepatitis C. I worked in education, prevention and testing for a number of years. Then spearheaded a project and received funding to not only do confirmatory testing on reactive patients but also seek treatment. I was able to get over 50 patients cured of Hepatitis C in this program that was only a side job to my main position as an HIV Prevention Specialist. The last 5 years I have worked for the Texas Liver Institute which is one of the largest treatment facilities for Hepatitis C in the world. This had helped me understand the treatment options from a medical and biological standpoint. I have spoken at many conferences, been involved in policy change and sit on boards for HCV.
