Christine Harsell DNP, ANP-BC

Dr. Harsell earned a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Montana State University in 1995, a Master's degree in Nursing and a post-master's certificate in Nursing Education from Syracuse University in 1999, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from from University of Minnesota in 2012. She has nearly 20 years experience in clinical practice and post-secondary education. Dr. Harsell is a nurse practitioner and clinical associate professor at the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines at UND. She is a previous project director of an Interprofessional SBIRT training grant at UND. She currently works with the MPATTC team as the opioid treatment provider workgroup facilitator and trainer. Dr. Harsell is the medical director at Spectra Health, a federally qualified health center in North Dakota where she works with an integrated primary care team that offers medications for substance use disorders. She is passionate about patient centered treatment for SUD, harm reduction, and interprofessional health care.

Areas of Expertise

As project director of an Interprofessional SBIRT training grant, Dr. Harsell facilitated SBIRT trainings to a variety of audiences. She continues to offer SBIRT and MAT implementation training and technical assistance through the MPATTC. She has been a content expert and case presenter on a variety of Project ECHO sessions related to SUD. She has expertise with both live classroom and online learning formats.
